My Story
Hi friends, nice to meet you!
I’m Drew, a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Health Coach based in Union Square, NYC.
Before this work, I spent seven years as a medic in the Army. I was in incredible shape— I maxed my PT tests, I felt strong, and I trusted my body.
Then, after experiencing military sexual trauma (MST), everything shifted.
What people don’t talk about enough is how physical that kind of experience can be.
I went from performing at a high level to not being able to run half a mile. My breathing felt off, my endurance dropped, and exercise started to feel overwhelming instead of empowering.
At first, it didn’t make sense. I knew how to train. I had the discipline. But my body wasn’t responding the way it used to. That’s what pushed me deeper into the science.
I started looking into oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange, and how the body adapts to stress and trauma. What I found was that in some cases, the body will actually shift how it regulates CO₂— so the hyperventilation and that “can’t catch your breath” feeling isn’t just anxiety, it’s a physiological response.
That changed the way I approached everything.
Instead of only trying to push through it, I started working with my body— rebuilding my tolerance to CO₂, retraining my breathing, and learning how to regulate my nervous system in a way that actually translated to performance.
Over time, I went from not being able to run half a mile to completing a half marathon. That experience is the reason I do what I do now.
My work is rooted in exercise physiology, but it’s also grounded in understanding that your nervous system, your stress, and your life experiences all impact how your body performs.
You don’t need to push harder.
You need a way to train that your body can actually adapt to.
With my coaching, we can get you feeling fit, regulated and confident!
